Buttoning

At Samhar Apparels LLP, we believe that even the smallest details make a big difference. Buttoning is one such detail?often overlooked, but crucial to the final appearance, functionality, and durability of the garment. Whether it?s a uniform shirt, a formal blouse, or a sporty polo, the placement, attachment, and finishing of buttons must be flawless.

Our buttoning process is handled with precision, consistency, and care, ensuring that each garment leaves our facility complete and ready to wear?with no loose ends, literally or figuratively.

Buttoning

Why Buttoning Matters

Buttons are more than fasteners—they're part of the garment’s aesthetic and structural design. Poorly attached buttons can lead to customer dissatisfaction, product returns, and compromised usability. That’s why we make buttoning a dedicated quality checkpoint within our production line.

Buttoning Process at Samhar Apparels

1. Button Selection & Sourcing
Buttons are selected based on buyer specifications for:

  • Size and shape
  • Color matching
  • Material (plastic, resin, coconut, metal, etc.)
  • Strength and wash durability

We source buttons from certified vendors to ensure they meet quality standards including safety compliance for children's wear (nickel-free, lead-free, non-toxic).

2. Placement & Marking
Each garment is marked using size-specific templates or laser guides to ensure:

  • Accurate placement of buttons and buttonholes
  • Consistency across sizes and styles
  • Proper alignment to prevent gaping or misfit

3. Attachment Using Specialized Machines
We use high-speed, programmable button sewing machines to ensure uniform stitching and secure fastening. Key features of this step include:

  • Cross-stitch or parallel stitch options as required
  • Adjustable thread tension for different fabric types
  • Reinforced stitching for high-stress areas

Our machines are calibrated regularly to maintain precision and minimize thread breakage or button damage.

4. Buttonhole Making
Where required, we create buttonholes using computerized buttonhole machines, ensuring clean, durable finishes. Buttonholes are:

  • Sized and shaped precisely for the button type
  • Reinforced to withstand repeated use
  • Properly aligned with button placements for a neat look

5. Manual Finishing & Inspection
Even with advanced machines, we perform manual checks and hand-tacking when needed—especially for decorative buttons, loops, or special placements. Each garment is inspected to ensure:

  • No loose threads
  • Firmly secured buttons
  • Proper alignment and tension
  • Smooth button action (easy open/close)

Types of Buttoning We Handle

We accommodate a wide range of button styles across various garment categories, including:

  • Shirt buttons
  • Snap buttons
  • Shank buttons
  • Tack buttons (for denims)
  • Decorative and branding buttons
  • Hook & eye or press buttons for uniforms

Durability Testing

To ensure long-term performance, buttons and buttonholes are tested during sampling and production for:

  • Pull strength
  • Wash resistance
  • Color fastness (especially dyed buttons)
  • Sharp edge or material defects

At Samhar Apparels, we treat buttoning as a fine detail that reflects our larger promise of quality. Whether it’s for function, fashion, or branding, every button is sewn with the care and consistency that defines our approach to excellence.
