Each merchandiser at Samhar Apparels is trained to act as a dedicated project manager for the buyer, taking full ownership of their orders and providing regular updates, solutions, and insights.

Key Responsibilities

Our merchandising team handles a wide spectrum of functions to ensure end-to-end order management:

1. Buyer Communication
Maintaining continuous dialogue with buyers regarding styles, technical specs, fabrics, trims, approvals, and production timelines.

2. Sample Development
Coordinating with design and sampling teams to create:

  • Proto Samples
  • Fit Samples
  • Pre-Production (PP) Samples
  • Size Sets & Shipment Samples
    Samples are developed and refined in close consultation with clients to finalize styling and production-ready specs.

3. Material Planning & Sourcing Coordination
Working closely with the sourcing team to ensure timely procurement of fabrics, trims, and accessories. They ensure all materials meet quality standards and are approved before production.

4. Time & Action (T&A) Planning
Merchandisers create and manage detailed T&A calendars for every order, covering all stages:

  • Sampling
  • Material in-house
  • Production start
  • Quality checks
  • Packing & dispatch
    This ensures that every stakeholder is aligned and accountable for deadlines.

5. Production Follow-Up
Daily coordination with cutting, sewing, washing, finishing, and packing departments to track production status and troubleshoot bottlenecks in real time.

6. Quality Assurance Interface
Liaising with quality control teams to ensure that buyer requirements and product specifications are maintained throughout the production cycle.

7. Documentation & Shipping Coordination
Preparing all necessary documentation including:

  • Packing lists
  • Invoice & buyer approval sheets
  • Shipping marks
  • Inspection reports
    They coordinate with logistics teams to ensure smooth, compliant dispatch and delivery.

Specialized Expertise

Our merchandisers are well-versed in handling a wide range of garment categories including:

  • School uniforms
  • Casualwear
  • Sportswear & performance garments
  • Custom-made apparel for institutions or corporate use

They also manage both domestic and international client accounts, with an understanding of region-specific compliance, quality standards, and shipment protocols.
